The Bismarck palm should be planted in areas that allow a lot of room for growth.

It prefers full sun to partial shade. The Bismarck palm tree requires a well-drained soil. For best grows it needs regular watering (about 2-3 times per week), feeding and occasional pruning.

It is fairly cold hardy and can survive a light frost. Leaf damage may occur, but it will recover quickly. When established the Bismarckia nobilis is hardy to 20-23 F. The plant can be grown in USDA hardiness zone: 10 to 11. The Bismarckia nobilis is well adaptable to Florida conditions. The Bismarck palm is fairly drought tolerant. It also has some salt tolerance.
